Mustang Sampling

Mustang® Composite Sampling System

The Mustang Composite Sampling System is an intermittent, waterless sampling system for liquefied natural gas. The system accumulates a representative sample by capturing small samples at regular intervals, either fixed or proportional to flow rate.

Description

The Mustang Composite Sampling System (MCSS®) is an intermittent, waterless sampling system for liquefied natural gas which is compliant with the requirements of ISO 8943 (International Organization for Standardization, Sampling of Liquefied Natural Gas, Continuous and Intermittent Methods). The system accumulates a representative sample by capturing small samples at regular intervals, either fixed or proportional to flow rate.

The sampling process is a cycle which begins with evacuating the tubing and sample cylinders throughout the system. As sampling commences, small fixed volumes of gas are captured and pumped into the accumulator. These volumes are adjustable in both size and sample frequency. Once the sampling process is complete, the accumulated volume’s composition is representative of the entire process cycle. The gas within the accumulator can be transferred into the gas sample cylinders. Additional spot samples may be obtained at any point throughout the process. The cycle can be repeated by replacing the sample cylinders and beginning the evacuation process.
